Once We Were Kings exhibition at The Chelsea Arts Club


 'Once We Were Kings' is an exhibition taking place in September. Harry Pye made many of the paintings in collaboration with his friends Rowland Smith and Gordon Beswick.

 Always on My Mind  

A Group Exhibition curated by Harry Pye to raise funds for The National Brain Appeal charity.  

27-30 July 2022 12-6pm  

Fitzrovia Gallery, 139 Whitfield Street, London W1T 5EN  

 

The National Brain Appeal raises much-needed funds for The National Hospital of Neurology and Neurosurgery and the UCL Queen Square Institute

of Neurology. The National Hospital is one of the world’s leading centres for the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients with a wide range of neurological and neuromuscular conditions including stroke, multiple sclerosis, brain cancer, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, migraine and dementia.   

 

Always On My Mind features collage, drawing, installation, photography, painting, prints and sculpture. Money raised from sales of artworks will go to help The National Brain Appeal. The title of the exhibition comes from the name of an Elvis Presley song that was number one 50 years ago.

 

The show includes work by 16 esteemed artists; Magda Archer, Gordon Beswick, Sasha BowlesNick CaveBilly Childish, Matthew Collings, Alice Herrick, Corin Johnson, James Johnston, Francis Macdonald, Kate Murdoch, Carson Parkin-Fairley, Harry PyeElena-Andreea Teleaga, Twinkle Troughton and Tracey Williams.

 

Harry Pye: “When I find myself in times of trouble and need help to cope I turn to art and artists. For me, each of the artists in this show is a reason to be cheerful there is something about the way their minds work and/or the intention behind the work they do that I am in love with. My hope is that this exhibition of art that will make you want to make art yourself, give you food for thought, and feel more positive about life.” 


The show will be open to the public 27 – 30 July between 12-6pm.  Free Entry.

All artworks are for sale and at least 50% of all sales will go to The National Brain Appeal (Reg. Charity no.290173). 

There will be two prints by Billy Childish launched at the exhibition and online in editions of 40. Each print will be available for £40 each.  All proceeds from sales of the print will be generously donated to The National Brain Appeal.
